Unlike English, Arabic is a phonetic language, which means if you learn the basics of reading, which is what this course is for, and with some practice, you should be able to read any Arabic text with 100% accuracy. In this course, we will start by learning the letters, then the ḥarakāt (diacritic marks), then we move to complete words, then how to connect words, and after that, complete verses and Surahs. By the end of this course, you will be able to recite any Surah smoothly, InshāʾAllah.
Just consider the reward you get for reciting the Qurʾān. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “Whoever recites a letter from the Book of Allah will be credited with a good deed, and a good deed gets a ten-fold reward. I do not say that Alif-Lam-Mim is one letter, but Alif is a letter, Lam is a letter and Mim is a letter”.

After learning the basics of reading, it is time to learn the rules of Tajweed. The Qurʾān is a unique book, and so is its recitation. It is not to be read like any other Arabic book, but rather it has a special way of recitation. How do we learn this recitation? The answer is Tajweed. Tajweed basically teaches you how to recite the Qurʾān like the prophet ﷺ.
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “The one who is proficient in the recitation of the Qur’an will be with the honorable and obedient scribes (angels) and he who recites the Qur’an and finds it difficult to recite, doing his best to recite it in the best way possible, will have two rewards”.
If you want to become a Ḥāfiẓ (Qurʾān memorizer), this course is for you. The memorization process in this course is well-planned with strong focus on review and Tajweed.
Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said: “The one who was devoted to the Qur’an will be told [on the Day of Judgment]: ‘Recite and ascend (in ranks) as you used to recite when you were in the world. Your rank will be at the last Ayah you recite”.
Scholars said that the one who memorizes the Qurʾān and acts upon it will be rewarded and honored greatly. Allah will elevate his rank in Jannah to a level commensurate with what he memorized of the Book of Allah.
REWARD OF THE PARENTS WHOSE CHILDREN MEMORIZED THE QURʾĀN
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “The Qurʾān will come on the Day of Judgment like a pale man saying to its companion, “Do you recognize me? I am the one who made you stay up at night and made you thirsty during the day…” Then he will be given dominion in his right hand and eternity in his left, and a crown of dignity will be placed upon his head, and his parents will be clothed with garments which far surpass everything to be found in this world. They will say, ‘O Lord, how did we earn this?’ It will be said to them, “Because you taught your child the Qur’an”.
This course is for the qualified students who are ready to obtain an Ijāzah in the recitation and or memorization of the Qurʾān. At the end of this course, and after successfully passing the required tests and evaluations, you will receive the corresponding Ijāzah certificate and have your name linked to the prophet’s ﷺ. Having received your Ijāzah, you can then start teaching the Qurʾān to others.
The prophet ﷺ said, “The best of you are those who learn the Qurʾān and teach it”.
